Escape Crew
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ESCAPE VOLUNTEERING/CREWING
Thank you for your interest in volunteering/crewing at a Ceroc escape event. Please read the following Terms and Conditions in full before completing the application form at the foot of this page.
Teacher and DJ queries should be forwarded to tim@ceroc.com
All other volunteer queries should go to gaynor@ceroc.com
1. OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteering and crewing opportunities are subject to availability, therefore you may not be allocated every event that you select. We try to be fair and rotate around all crew on our list to provide a spread of opportunity.
You will be notified via email about whether or not you have been successful well in advance of the event. This will allow sufficient time to book as a paying member should you not receive your requested date.
2. REWARDING HARD WORK
The Escape Committee monitors all crew and volunteers across the weekend. Hard work, punctuality and a willingness to reflect the high standard of our events will be rewarded with further opportunities. Lateness, absences and poor quality service will result in other more enthusiastic volunteers taking your place at future events. Apologies if this sounds harsh, however the quality of our weekenders for our members is paramount.
3. ABSENCES
Committing over a year in advance is a big ask, and unexpected priorities can suddenly appear in your life. If you are unable to crew/volunteer at an event that you have previously agreed to attend, then simply contact us at your earliest possible convenience to notify. This will not affect your chances of appearing at future events, however the efficiency of your email would be appreciated so alternative crew/volunteers can be sourced.
4. ACCOMMODATION
All crew/volunteers will receive a wristband for the event, plus accommodation. You will always be housed in accommodation with other crew/volunteers. Whilst we try our hardest to meet all accommodation requests, specific configurations can never be guaranteed.
For all our events, you can expect:
- 2 couples sharing 2 doubles accommodation, or
- 4 singles sharing 2 twins
Please do not agree to crewing or volunteering if you are not happy with sharing accommodation.
Existing accommodation arrangements may not be able to be honoured at our new sites, so please request via email, but please understand they may not be able to be actioned. On occasions and subject to availability, we will be able to arrange solo or double/twin occupancy, however this will be charged at a solo occupancy fee. Please contact us to request.
5. ADDING FRIENDS/PARTNERS
Non-crewing friends or partners can always (subject to gender balance) be added to your booking but will be charged full fee for the event (minus any existing staff discounts). Feel free to request at tim@ceroc.com, and I will notify you at the earliest convenience if it will be possible.
6. STAYING WITH FRIENDS/PARTNERS
If you wish to stay with your friends booking and do not require crew accommodation, then please notify us ASAP. This will free up valuable bed space for other crew/volunteers, and is therefore an option at all events.
7. NEW VOLUNTEERS
If you have a friend/partner who wishes to crew/volunteer at the weekender, please tell them to notify us ASAP. The waiting list is long, so an email request does not necessarily guarantee them a place at any event.
8. WORKING HOURS (VOLUNTEERS)
All volunteers are expected to complete between 5 and 7 hours of work spread across the weekend. This workload can increase to up to 8 hours at our Summer events where places are competitive and accommodation needs to be reserved for our paying members. Requests for particular hours are never guaranteed as balancing the schedule can be extremely challenging.
Existing work hour arrangements may not be able to be honoured, so please request again on the form, but please understand they may not be able to be actioned.
9. RESPONSIBILITIES
The full list of volunteer responsibilities are as follows. You may be required to complete more than 1 role across each event. The wider the range of roles you are willing to complete, the more likely you are to be considered for the event.
