When you watch dancers glide effortlessly through pivots, graceful, elegant, and completely in control, and think, “I wish I could do that,” this workshop is for you.
In the first half, we’ll break down the technique behind beautiful pivots, giving you the practical tips and subtle tricks that transform them from tricky to truly effortless. You’ll learn how to stay balanced, connected, and poised, so your movement looks just as good as it feels.
In the second half, we’ll explore the magic of counterbalance. You’ll discover how to create it, when to use it, and, most importantly, how to play with it. By understanding how to share and harness energy within the partnership, you’ll unlock new possibilities for expression, musicality, and connection in your dancing.

From the north and east (Derby, A52) take the A52 towards Ashbourne and then follow signs for Wyaston. Turn onto Wyaston Road and continue into the village.
From the south (Uttoxeter/A515) head towards Ashbourne then take the A52 towards Derby and follow signs for Wyaston.
From the west (Ashbourne town centre) take the A52 towards Derby then follow the signposted turn off for Wyaston.
Wyaston Village Hall will be on your left as you enter the village. There is a large car park on site.
