Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about dance classes in Ceroc

What is Ceroc?

At a Ceroc night you will learn a fusion of different dance styles. It is the original, largest and fastest growing partner dance club in the UK.

Do I need to book in advance?

No, there is no set course for you to enrol on. Every single week there will be a number of first timers and therefore we always run a complete Beginners lesson. You can simply turn up to any venue of your choice, as and when you like, and pick up where you left off.

Venues in your area can all be found simply by visiting our Classes Finder.

Do I need to bring my partner?

No. There is no need to take a partner with you because everyone will be moved around, giving them the opportunity to dance with a range of people in the lesson.

Whether you come alone, with a partner or with a group of friends, you will get the chance to meet, dance, learn and interact with everyone else in the room at least once.

Can I use Ceroc to help my GCSE, A-Level, BTEC, Degree or PGCE level Dance course?

Yes. You can use the physical movement in any practical modules.

Your choreographic modules will benefit directly from an enhanced understanding in movement choreography, contact work, spatial awareness and creative expression.

Your acquired knowledge of interpretation of meaning, kinaesiology, anatomy and physiology can be utilised in many theoretical papers and dance appreciation modules.

Any performance modules you undertake will benefit from developed skills in physical technique, improved fitness and artistic expression.

We always recommend speaking with your tutor to explore how your implementation of Ceroc within your practical and theory modules can be most relevant and beneficial.

What should I wear?

You do not need any particular clothing to attend a Ceroc evening. Anything goes...casual wear or smart dress. As long as you feel comfortable, it really is up to you!

As for shoes, wear something that will allow you to move freely on the dance floor - we recommend leather soled shoes and encourage you to avoid anything too grippy, like sports trainers.

Ceroc is active, and you will get warm, so try to wear layers that you can remove if necessary.

How much does it cost?

Ceroc is a franchised organisation and therefore prices will vary depending on your area.

You should expect to pay between £6 and £10 for the whole evening, including 2 classes, one-to-one help from the pros and plenty of practice time with our resident DJ.

Please find the venue of your choice using our Classes Finder to find out specific details on cost.

Do I need to become a member?

Yes. Everybody needs to become a Ceroc member in order to attend our classes. You'll pay a one off fee of between £1 and £3 (depending on the area) and your lifetime membership card will grant you access to all Ceroc venues across the globe.
